Congratulations to Beth Ann Chiles for being the first blog featured in RAC’s Blogs From Around The World. We found Beth Ann’s blog, It’s Just Life, to be fun and interesting.
Bio: Beth Ann is a 50 something wife, mother of 2 adult sons who shares her home with her husband and her feline Holly. As an avid reader and lover of travel she has found herself living in many different places over the years and currently calls Brevard, NC her home. She loves to connect with all kinds of people who share her zest for life. Her blog – It’s Just Life – Finding the Extraordinary in the Ordinary – highlights her passions of writing, travel, food and her ever growing teapot collector. A monthly feature, Comments for a Cause, highlights a new charity monthly. Beth Ann looks at life through a full glass and tries to pay it forward every chance she gets.
Some of the features of her blog include:
Teapot Tuesday; Waterfall Wednesday; And More: Writing; Books; Recipes; Products
And our favorite, Comments for a Cause. Beth explains: Every month I choose a different charity to donate to. For each legitimate comment that month my husband, Chris, and I will donate 50 cents to that cause. It has been a really great thing to do and I am happy to honor a lot of different “causes” so please comment away. I highlight the new cause on the 1st of the month so make sure you catch that post to find the current one.
Here was April’s Comments for a Cause Blog.
Highlighting a Very Special Cause – Comments for a Cause
Where in the world did March go?
Whoosh and it was gone.
Another month means another Comments for a Cause and another chance to highlight a good charity.
This past month my charity that was the Comments for a Cause recipient was the wonderful Folds of Honor. Their motto says it all: Honor Their Sacrifice. Educate Their Legacy. The mission of this organization is to provide educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members. What a wonderful gift this is to those recipients.
Chris spent some time in the Navy and we started our married life as a Navy couple so I guess you could say I am pretty enthusiastic when it comes to supporting any organization that is doing something worthwhile for our military and their families. Folds of Honor is one of those organizations that often flies under the radar and I am thrilled to be able to support them a bit with a small donation. Chris and I will happily be making a donation of $156 to Folds of Honor as a result of your comments here on It’s Just Life this month. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support of my efforts to increase awareness of various charities.
For the month of April I have chosen an organization that is near and dear to our hearts to support. Camp Robin Rogers is a camp located in Spencerville, Ohio. It falls under the larger entity of The Arc. Camp Robin Rogers is a summer camp for developmentally disabled and handicapped individuals in the Allen County area. It is a place where our sweet Carlton loved to go in the summers and he always regaled us with stories about how wonderful it was. He had some fabulous counselors and camp buddies who made the experiences extra special.
Funding is always difficult for these types of facilities and the family has chosen Camp Robin Rogers to be the recipient for memorial gifts for Carlton. It seems only fitting that I choose this for my April Comments for a Cause as well. Anytime I can promote an organization that has been meaningful to someone in our family I am going to do it.
For every comment on It’s Just Life during the month of April 2019 Chris and I will make a 50 cent donation to Camp Robin Rogers in memory of Carlton Scott Chiles. If you are interested in making a donation of your own you can direct your gift to Camp Robin Rogers c/o The Arc of Allen County 546 S. Collett St. Lima, Ohio 45805.
Thank you as always for your support and continued comments on my blog. It makes my day to read them and especially the past couple of weeks when I have shared about Carlton I have drawn great comfort from reading the heartfelt comments that each of you has made. We will always miss Carlton and know the world is a better place because he was here.

Thank you, Beth Ann, for sharing your world with us.
